Ok -

You wonder why we sell all of the POPCORN – well it is to participate in Fun, Family-Centered activities like GOLD RUSH! This is one of the highlights of the Scout Year and one not to be missed.

I have attached the Registration Form for this year. Please review the details, especially if you are a new Scout Family. You may spend one or both nights and register for any or all or no meals with us. PLEASE make sure you sign up for meals if you do plan to eat – we have to plan based on the expected number of bellies to fill. All family members are welcome – we love grandparents and siblings especially. Note that there are fees just to play the Gold Rush games, even if you only come for the day.

If you do not have camping experience, that is ok – this is easy camping and there are lots of Pack 205 folks who will be glad to help.

Please note on the registration form that you are responsible for your family’s beverages for the weekend. We will have milk, juice, coffee and hot chocolate at breakfast, but you are on your own for the balance of the weekend.

Who can tell what the weather will be GR weekend? We camp anyway so go ahead and send in your forms and fees.

We will discuss additional details at the Pack meeting on the Tuesday (14th) before Gold Rush, but send me any questions you may have.

Scouting and Camping are Cool!

642f6e78-5afc-40be-93e5-762ef0f36fa0Hope you’ve had a great Labor Day weekend and are ready for Scouts to gear up!

In preparation for Scout Night at all elementary schools on Thursday night to recruit new Scouts, boys are encouraged to wear a Class B shirt on Tuesdayand their Cub Scout belt with belt loops on Wednesday.  If your school’s dress code allows, we’d love to see the participation.  This will be a great way for your son to recruit a new Scout to the Pack.

Any Scout who recruits a new boy to the Pack earns a Recruiter patch!

Ice Bucket Challenge

Hey Everybody -

I have called you out! (or rather I challenged three other Scout units)

Pack 205 had a fun in the sun day this past Saturday out at Westminster Park – where temps were near 90! At the end of the day, I gathered the boys and their siblings to tell them about Lou Gehrig and ALS. They had seen videos of the Ice Bucket Challenge but did not know what the meaning of it was.

So, we’re sending $100 of our hard-earned Popcorn money to ALS of South Carolina:

Your challenge is to match us, then challenge three other people or groups to match you!

Fun in the Sun Day August 16th!

Hey everybody, who’s ready for school to start?

We have our second Fun-Filled activity planned for next Saturday the 16th! We’ll meet at WESTMINSTER Park at 2:30 for some games, challenges of skill, races, etc. Bring your squirt guns. It may be a hot one.

We’ll have ice cold lemonade and make a surprise snack.

Remember that all Pack 205 activities are Family centered – siblings and friends are Always welcome. This is the opportunity to invite your buddies who might be interested in joining Pack 205.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

LEADERS. I am rescheduling our Leaders meeting which was set for this Tuesday the 12th at WPC. I would like for all of you to plan to attend the District Round Table which will be held at First Presbyterian, downtown Rock Hill at 6:45 on Thursday the 14th. We will get lots of good information about the upcoming Scout year and I can cover our Pack info with you briefly.

Happy almost Spring Break! I have listed a number of items below for your review – food for thought while on Spring Break.

** Pack Meeting on Tuesday, April 29th – 6:30 at WPC. This is the last Pack Meeting for the year – last one for your son to receive the Bling he worked hard for this year. Leaders make sure you get all of you information loaded in Pack Master by the 25th, please.
This is also the Pack Meeting where I have to pay up to those boys who sold enough Popcorn to throw pies at me!

** Spring Family Camp Out May 2-4 at Westminster Park
This is our annual Spring camp out and a highlight of the Scout year. We will do all of the cooking as usual, all you need to do is register. You may do this on paper and send me a check or you may register on-line, similarly to registration for the Blue Gold Banquet in February. You will register your family by the meals you intend to join us for or you may register for all 4 meals. Please register the number per meal accurately so we purchase the correct amount of vittles. Forms are attached. On line version is:

We will work on Belt Loops on Saturday morning and have our Rain Gutter Regatta in the afternoon. Please come for the day or for the whole weekend!

** It is time to start thinking about Summer Camps. The Palmetto Council and York District offer several opportunities – both for Day Camp and for Resident Camp (overnight). Please review the information below provided by the District:

Now is the time to register for 2014 Summer Day Camp at Westminster Park!!
You can register online at under Event Registration (which is under Training). There is a discount for registering by May 15 and goodies given (t-shirt, pack, water bottle, etc. ) cannot be guaranteed available for those who register late. SO beat the deadline!!

This year’s theme is Knights of the Round Table!

Along with our old favorites like BBs and Archery, we have all new activities for our boys this year so you don’t want to miss it!!
** Registration for Summer Day Camp is by individual – not by the Pack.

Here is information regarding Resident Camping at Camp Bob Hardin:
